Congratulations to Sophia (2nd year) who placed first in the Republic of Ireland Junior Solo Ballroom 4-dance Championship over the weekend. 

 

The Irish National Senior Schools Swimming Championship took place yesterday and Leinster is the 2022/23 champion. Congratulations to Abril Allende (2nd year) who was representing Leinster and Sion Hill. Abril took 1st place National in the 100 Breast 3rd place National in the 100 Free.

Congratulations to our TY students who received their JCPA (Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement) last week. In addition to grades in state certified examinations, this document also reports on classroom based assessments, other areas of learning and wellbeing. Well done to all our students who demonstarted a strong commitment across all of these areas. 

Our first post-covid visit to the Irish Film Institute in Temple Bar. Ms Duffy’s TY German class enjoyed the Austrian Film : “Chasing the Line” .There was a full house and a great atmosphere. @lecheiletrust1

For World Book Day students from 1 Amber created some very creative short stories using only titles of books from our school Library!

A number of students from different committees in school got the opportunity to attend an International Women’s Day event organized by Mary Hanafin and the Ambassador of Morocco. Students got to listen to the stories of truly inspirational women from both Ireland in Morocco, such as; 

·         Bouchra Baibanou- a renowned champion alpinist in Africa and the Arab world,

·         Sinead Buckley-Quinn- local entrepreneur and owner of the Irish Design Gallery,

·         Merieme Chadid- an explorer, astronomer and one of the world’s greatest living scientists,

·         Eimear O’Connor- Director of the Tyrone Guthrie Arts Centre and Art Historian.
