Congratulations to Prachi Agrawal (5th Year) on reaching the regional finals in the ‘Action Talks Speech Writing Competition’. Prachi is one of five students in the Leinster region to qualify. The competition, run by ActionAid Ireland and now in its ninth year, was open to all students aged 14 to 17 across Ireland. ActionAid Ireland works with women and children, as they take the lead in claiming their human rights to build a more just world.

Maja and Sampada from 5th year were delighted to represent Sion Hill Students at the Le Chéile Conference in Mullingar last week. Many thanks to all @lecheiletrust1 for organising such a super event. #welcome #witness #wisdom

Catholic Schools Week was a great success in Sion Hill this year. Students took time to reflect on the theme of ‘Walking Together in Faith and Love’. Religion classes enjoyed orienteering around Blackrock where they stopped to reflect at places of religious importance. The inclusive nature of Sion Hill is represented by the new display in the open space. We paid special attention to Saturday 28th January, the feast day of St Thomas Aquinas, who is of particular importance to the religious history of Sion Hill.

Congratulations to Aira Nicole Aquino (2 Sapphire) who came 2nd, and Julia Maguire (1 Opal) who came 1st in the ‘It’s A Wonderful World’ Credit Union Art Competition 2022/23

Our 1st years are really enjoying Home Economics. They are acquiring very practical skills and this week made tasty and healthy home made pizzas.

TY students have been busy this last few weeks! Following on from our successful well-being week they engaged in a variety of activities including Felting and Yoga. They also undertook the @CPR4schools programme from @irishheart_ie and are delivering the training to younger years…an essential life skill!

Both junior and senior debate clubs were in action on Tuesday as Sion Hill hosted students from Holy Child Killiney for a mace debate. The standard was really high and lots of fun was had by all.

Today, our TY students facilitated a ‘Roundtable Leadership’ workshop for 1st years. Everyone involved learned a lot and had great fun. #witness #wisdom @lecheiletrust1
