Transition year students from Sion Hill, in collaboration with students from Blackrock college, participated in a Law programme in the Central Criminal Court which culminated in a Mock Trial. The students were very impressive in their preparation, examination and communication. We would like to extend a massive thank you to past pupil and friend Justice Melanie Greally who facilitated the trial and provided the students with such an incredible opportunity.

We were delighted to receive a beautiful photograph from the @Irishguidedogs to mark our recent record breaking fundraising hockey festival. We raised €2,137 for an incredible charity. Thank you to everyone who participated. @lecheiletrust1

Congratulations to our fifth year debaters who organised Sion Hill’s first inter-school debate and to our juniors who attended. A sincere thank you to our past pupils who returned to act as adjudicators for the final as well. It was an extremely successful day enjoyed by everyone who attended

Thug an t-údar iomráiteach, Ógie Ó Céilleachair, cuairt ar an scoil inné. Labhair sé le lucht na tríú bliana faoina úrscéal “Cúpla” agus a ghearrscéal “Katfish”, atá á staidéar acu do scrúdú Gaeilge na Sraithe Sóisearaí. Nach méanar dúinn!

Well done to all the students who competed at east Leinsters over the last two days. 

Congratulation to Iris Mc Mahon who placed 4th in the 500m and to the 1st year relay team on their first outing for Sion Hill.

TY students had a great day at the Helix in DCU, attending the “Leaders on our Level” event hosted by Terenure College. Enormous thanks for the invitation and to the incredibly inspirational speakers!

 

 
Last Saturday, two teams from 1st and 2nd year competed in the Loreto Junior Mace competition. The teams were Alex Trzeciak (2nd year) and Abril Allende (1st year) and Shriya Mishra (1st year) and Shreshta Karthik (1st year). The students did really well and they are looking forward to this weekend’s debate in Sion Hill!

13 students visited the Dunsink Observatory this morning. They attended the Tyndall lecture by Dr Caitriona Jackman about planetary magnetic fields, they were given a tour of the South Telescope and they had a great time in the Race to Space escape room.
